#mondaytrainingupdate

I have picked a race date… Now the training begins! The race is on September 15 over in Phoenix. My last P.R. was a 23:50 so my plan is to be in the 20s or 21s. On top of running I will also be doing training to increase my max push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and squats. Last week I hit 4 out of the five training runs, but this week I want to be back up to 6 days a week. I am going to try and hit a minimum of 35 miles a week; I would really like to be around 40+ miles a week though. This cycle through I will be focusing more on times and splits, however in recent training cycles I have found running much more enjoyable with less equipment.
            This race seems to be pretty small, which could in turn help me. I have wanted to place first in my age group but my dream is to cross the finish line first. I'm hoping and praying that this would be the race! The race website is http://www.tjsruntofightcf.com/index.html. The cost is only $25, which is considerably cheep, plus it goes to a great cause!
