Is money really the answer?
On my twitter (@newnation) everyday I post a question of the day. Today’s question is “Is money really the answer?” This blog post will be in regards to that question.
The question seems open ended. While it is still a question regarding a yes or no answer, it still requires some thinking. A few questions in the question of the day can be raised. The first question that I thought of was is the question talking about money in a physical aspect with such things as the dollar, or is does it focus more on money as things that are meaningful to the person? The second question I thought about was is money the answer to what? Is money the answer to everything every where as the QOTD(question of the day) would suggest? One thing I see in this QOTD is that money is either the answer or is not the answer.
FACE VAULE
To answer this question at face value, by this I mean money is the dollar and the “answer” is to everything. My answer is NO! Money cannot be the answer. Money cannot put itself in motion. To say money pays for something is wrong, the person pays, the money is the trade in which that something is paid for. What about money answering questions? Try to figure out how many light-years away the sun is by looking or asking the dollar. Could you imagine a world like this… it would be wish-wash, upside-down, and crazy! It is insane to imagine money being the answer in this sense. Yet, How many people treat money in this sense like it is the answer to everything? I admit I have done it. I’m sure many other people have to.
PERSONAL NOTE
Money in my own life has had very littler meaning and still has very little meaning. My parents installed this idea since I was very young. From what I’ve seen, my parents they have never really been overly concerned with money in the sense of the dollar. Of course, they stressed out about the occasional bill here or there but never more than that. They have seemed to always be content in what they had. Would they like a bigger T.V., a more expensive car, a new patio, or a new kitchen? I’m sure they would say yes. If you were to ask my parents how they have been content, and how the can still be happy even when money is tight. The answer would leave you dumb-founded! Their answer would be to live on only ninety percent of their income. Actually they probably live on less than that. What do you do with that other ten percent you might ask? They give that ten percent to the church. With that ten percent they make an investment! An investment that will last more than a lifetime!
Next Friday, I will continue my regards to this question.
